In this thread, you will find answers to many of your questions. Read the whole thread carefully, and watch the tutorial videos. The most important thing you need to realize is that GetRef does not "sell" referrals. You set up an offer for programs of your choice and invite other GetRef members to join. It is not instant, it is not guaranteed and it is not always easy. DO NOT spend money on Gold membership or on buying credits until you understand this. GetRef does not give refunds. If you learn how GetRef works and learn to use it properly it can be a huge help to you. --Jacki14*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* If you are new to getref or are still confused as to how it all works, start here. I have spent many hours making these tutorials, some of them are old, but they still have useful information. Watch them in order or you will be MORE confused! Rate them thumbs up if they helped you in ANY way and leave a comment if you have any questions. Start by reading the FAQ and the How-To on the main GetRef site! Also, please register for the forum before posting. Members like to know who they're really talking to, and building a reputation here as responsible and honest will help you with getting referrals.
This is the Golden Rule of GetRef: Be the Referral you would want your Referrals to be; Be the Promoter you would want to join under. If you follow this rule, you will be successful.

If you have been scammed by someone joining or claiming to join your program, read this one:
Relax, take a deep breath, realize that this happens to everyone.
Now, some advice from those who have been there. Don't post offers that are hugely higher than other offers for your program. The cheaters think it's bait, so aim just a little higher. Write a program description that is really specific about your expectations. When someone claims credit but does not show up in your downline, send a message saying "maybe there was a mistake, here is the referral link, I'll decline you in 24 (or 12) hours if you don't fulfill my terms". Then decline if they don't measure up! It's easier to build your rating back up than to earn all those credits again.
To rescue your ratings, find a program where you won't mind if your referrals don't do all that much. Offer minimum credits, and accept anyone who appears in your downline pretty much automatically. ClixSense works well for this. Something where you get rewarded for their joining, not so much for their continued participation would be ideal.
The other approach is to team up with someone else in the same situation and exchange programs. There are always plenty of threads on the forum from members who have been cheated!

If you have been scammed by a promoter, read this one: Sorry to say, but there jerks on GetRef just like everywhere else. It happens to everyone, and there is not anything you can do about it, really. The safeguards that are in place to protect promoters and those who join pretty much annoy everyone equally. Try sending a message to the promoter asking why you were declined. He/she may well be scam-scum and ignore it, or even reply rudely. Stuff happens, remember the name and avoid them in the future. Meanwhile, to build up your ratings, choose promoters who write clear program descriptions. Avoid the offers that are hugely larger than others for the same program--if it's too good to be true it probably ISN'T true. Try looking for a program that rewards the promoter for your sign-up, not just on your participation--those are often a faster transaction. There are also often people on the General board offering free credits or to exchange programs in order to build up ratings.

A couple more standard pieces of information:
TICKETS - you get tickets at random for navigating around GetRef, particularly in the the Click To Earn section. It's generally fairly easy to get three a day; almost impossible to get more. They don't mean anything except as entries into a contest. Jay occasionally goes in and gives a prize to the member with the most tickets and one to a randomly-chosen ticket. Great if you win, but not anything to worry about.
YOU ARE ONE DECLINE AWAY FROM A BAN - also not something to worry about. This is an automatic process in GetRef. It cannot be changed for anyone for any reason. Just try not to get declined again within a week! Even if you are, it's a good opportunity to spend some time learning about GetRef and how best to make it work for you, and researching programs that are worth joining.

Probably the most common question on GetRef is this: why isn't anyone joining my program?
Ask yourself these questions: Is yours a popular program, to which many GetRef members already belong? Are you offering what other promoters have up? Is your program description clearly written and is what you are asking fair? Are you practicing the Golden Rule of online programs - being the referral you want others to be - and becoming a respected voice on the GetRef forum so that people know and trust you? Are you being patient?

If you are going the Free Credits route, to raise your Promoter's rating, PLEASE choose a program from somewhere in the middle of the alphabet in which to park your credits. Most people have already used the As and Bs.

Forum Rules: - Referral links are not allowed in the forum.
- Discussion of "Ref-for-Ref" transactions is allowed ONLY if the transactions will go through GetRef and involve credit.
- There are filters on bad language. Continued unpleasantness will get you censored and may result in banning.
- It is strongly recommended that you write in full sentences and use correct punctuation and spelling. Earning online is a BUSINESS for many of those in this forum, and treating it in a mature, business-like fashion will benefit everyone.

To be On Hold, you go to an offer in GetRef (under Earn By Joining) and hit AGREE but on the next page you do NOT hit UPDATE. You should always do transactions this way--if a transaction is On Hold, it can be cancelled without penalty to either side.

Setting up your referral link:
You need to read the material on the site you are referring carefully. A referral link will give the URL of the site and then an extension that is your referrer ID. There is usually a "=" or "ref" or similar symbol before it. Look at the GetRef page where you are setting up your offer. See where it says "Test Your Referral URL"? That's what the link will look like, with your ID where it says "yourusername".

Cash may NOT be offered to get people to join your programs. This includes PayPal, AlertPay and any of the other services. GetRef credits ONLY.

Be sure to read ALL the threads pinned at the top of this forum and the other forum sections as well. If you do not read English well, you might find it helpful to look at the languages thread for someone who can help you, or use translate.google.com/.

Some general things to know, since people don't seem to figure things out on their own:
Spamming the forum, or spamming the Mail on the main site, will get you banned. So will nasty language or any sort of threat.
Sending bullsh*t to the Global Moderator as a private message or as mail will get you banned really fast.
GetRef is a tool. You may need more than one tool to achieve your goals.

To look at a promoter's record, take these two links www.getref.com/usercomments.asp?username=www.getref.com/mystats.asp?userid=and paste the username after the = . You will be able to see comments on them from promoters whose programs they joined in the first one, and their ratings in the second. If the number of declines is higher than the number of acceptances, there may be a problem.
