I was just cleaning out my mailbox and noticed it is rather a pain. Could we have a tick box next to each message and a button at the bottom that says delete selected? it would be a heck of alot easier than having to delete each one. Just a thought.

actually i see it an old suggestion - but i want to support it now ..
cleaning your received message box is uncomfortable - because you need to press "delete" next to each message (and so like 100 times.. )
but cleaning you sent item is even more pain as after you click "delete" you are forwarded back to mail box you you need to get to "sent items" again - that one of the reasons i have like hundred messages there - i have not enough will to continue with such boring and long cycle..

I found the work-around for this, at least in Firefox: open "Mail you have sent to other users" in a new window. On each message to be deleted, use the right-click to open the deletion window in a new tab. Once you've done a pile of them, delete one the normal way, then right click on that tab and "close other tabs".

I've also been facing the same issue.. However this would be easy to implement by some simple php coding.. Something like adding a button and 2 text fields in the bottom/top of the sent/received messages page for 2 dates and then use a simple sql query on a button with this code sample : delete from [messages_table_name] where ([message_date_field] between [date_field1] and [date_field2]) and [message_sender/receiver_field] like '[username]'; This would remove all messages between those dates with the press of a button. If someone in the staff knows what I'm talking about it's pretty simple to implement..

Good suggestion. Please contact Jay directly at GetRef@hotmail.com. I don't know how often he reads the forum any more.

It is a good suggestion. And you are right it is relatively simple to implement. Couple hours at best, I'll take a look on sunday I have a couple hours designated for the site.

Hey guys, I spent a few hours today fixing the mail functionality. You can now select a bunch of messages and delete them all at once. I also found a bug in the close connection code I think the site should run a bit faster now. Jay
