Hi~
I have a problem with a member. This same person 2 days in a row was pending a sign up for one of my programs, but they are not signing up at all. The 1st time, I waited a day to see if they would show up in my referral list, but they did not, so I declined the request. Low and behold, the same person is back with the same senerio today under the same program. If I decline this person who is "pretending" to sign up once again, it will negatively reflect my rating and honest people will be reluctant to sign up for my programs. I know that Gold members can ban users, but I am not a gold member yet and this is just wrong. This person seems to be harrassing me. Now if I once again decline them, my rating will go down only because they are not signing up for my programs. What can be done about users like this? They need to be booted, and I shouldn't have to pay to ban them! Its looking like its a game to them! I would like to know an email address to send the info to the webmaster. Help!

Hi there, Please do not send me info about this user, send me the name of the user and I will check the account details and if they have a history of abuse I will ban them. As far as you shouldn't have to upgrade to gold in order to get a feature such as ban user, I completely disagree with this statement. First off, GetRef needs it's gold members to survive, it's because of the gold members that the free members have a site like this in the first place. Secondly, if you go into a restaurant, and order a hamburger with extra stuff (cheese, bacon, mushrooms) you should expect to pay for the extra stuff, and the fact that you REALLY WANT the extra stuff doesn't entitle you to it. If you REALLY WANT to be able to ban a user, then pay the 6.00 for a month membership (you'll like it I promise) and set up a banned user list. You get numerous benefits by upgrading, free referrals is just one of them, look at the contest list this month, just about every golduser has 10 or more referrals that they have got for free. Users you ban while gold, stay banned if you let your gold membership run out and become a regular user again. Rant over.. Jay

Jay,
What I meant by send u info on the user was sending his /her user name and his/her user name only... what else could I send to u other than a user name? I did pay the $6 to become a gold member so I could not have to deal with this person ruining my feedback, but it was through a Paypal e-check, so I guess I'll be a gold member when it clears. The 3 day wait to accept or decline this person's transaction has since passed. I was hoping to be a gold member before I had to accept or decline so it would not negatively affect my account, but oh well. Not even sure if it affects me if I don't accept of decline. Since the tranasction "timed out" I guess his last non-sign up with me will not show up negatively for him, but he/she did it twice to me. Its nice to know that admin will ban a user for abuse for any free or paying members with problems like this. I did always plan on going gold, but not under these circumstances. And since I know that Admin will ban members for this, I retract my statement that everyone should be able to ban users.

Just a note here.. Of the 30 or so e-checks I have recieved thus far through paypal, want to guess how many of them have cleared? Zero. As soon as it clears I will update your membership. I will ban users permanantly if they abuse their membership, all you ever need to do is send me an email at getref@hotmail.com with the user name, and I will review that persons account, if they have a history of abuse, I will ban them from the system.
