Hi All, Again I have done some soul searching, and I have decided to allow all these types of sites to be allowed in GetRef.
As long as there is no up front cost to join, and the buyer of the referral does not require that a person buys something to give them GetRef credit. (I will ban users if they behave this way).
Why did I make this decision? I guess it dawned on me that although I try to make all of my programs free to join, at some point, 99% of all these programs would like you to buy something from them. So how does that make 'free offer sites' any different.
They are free to join, you can build a downline for free, and use the site with no cost. We have many sites like that here that fit that description.
Plus, now that we have the site classifications, people will be hopefully going into these sites with their eyes open.
So feel free to start posting your 'free offer sites' again. As long as they are free to join, and you understand that if a user joins under you, you have to give them credit even if they dont purchase anything.
Jay

Can you make it they have to complete an offer if you're offering over 6 credits and the offers are entirely free? Thanks

I dont have a problem with it as long as they dont have to enter a credit card number. Entering a credit card number is not 'free' in my mind, regardless of whether they charge you or not. Jay

How about if the site forcing to open 1-3 pop-up on every single click on that site. That was ridiculous and I found 1 program like this. Do you think it is allowed? I think that's not make us comfortable. If that's not allowed, I'll tell you the site name. Thank You.

Eyes open is good advise. Whether there is a description or not everyone in this section expects you to perform an offer to get credit. If not they will decline you. If you go on these sites from time to time you've noticed there all basically the same. Same offers you can only sign up to once. I've also read articles how people keep journals to know when to cancel and collect rewards for free (?) Seems a bit unethical to me, but then again I'm an advertiser at heart. Also, wouldn't it be better to give 2 credits for sign ups, earn a little from the ptc/ptr etc, commissions that many of these sites also have, and build a friendly repore with your downline that can lead to increased future earnings? Just a thought..............

One of the offers in the top five explicitly states that a credit card is necessary- I thought that was against the rules???

There are a number of these offers and it has been brought up but to date nothing has been done to enforce the rules.

Free sites are AWESOME! Instead of a ridiculously impossible .000032 cents per click/referral/offer or whatever, you actually get something TANGIBLE for your time and referrals! I'd much rather get $40 for a referral than $2 or $.02, especially when it's possible to only spend $4.57 on shipping and handling or something for the offer needed to get credit on the site. Just my "two cents".

I agree with udaytonflyer. Maybe when you are expanding the site you could create another section for pay to complete sites.

That would be a nice addition. However I have a proposal: IF that site were ever to be created i think it would be a good idea to have some sort of money deposit thing that you have along side credits. This would be necessary because the offers that process the quickest usually require some small input of money. Instead of the referral having to bear with the costs, why not make it our duty to pay them back as soon as they hav completed an the offer, with thier own money, by giving them the money back. This extra deposit thing can be wired to like a paypal account of somesort, so in the end all parties benefit, because someone gets a referral for a xbox etc, while the other persons gets some credits and doesnt lose any money. Just a suggestion

Do you mean reimbursing them for the cost of completing the offer? That sounds like a great idea.

well, the ones I promote can be done without a credit card (cell phone offers that are easily cancellable for example), but I would definitely be open to giving a few bucks extra in case ppl dont want to do those. In GetRef's current form, this is just not practical- I would be flooded by scammers and people who don't read the directions
