I accepted a referral and noticed the ID was “none” So I went to the site to see if I had had a new signing, there wasn’t. I didn’t think this was possible. I had previously accepted the same member for two other sites, no problems there.
Anyway he/she is not on the forum so how do I get in touch.

Did you click on an "Open" Button? If so, this transaction was not completed yet and then you get "none" as an username. Claudi

Yes I did click the open button for that one but I've have just noticed that another referral with 'none' as an ID did actually become a downliner on a different program. And now I have one pending my acceptance with no ID

A tip for you
Next time you have to choose between open and cancel - FIRST go to your program and check if there might be a user with the getref UserID or a similar one - there are programs where this is not possible, but if you see there is something similar to the getref userID, open it, otherwise, cancel it - your decision!

OK, thank you, lesson learnt.
I will decline my most recent referral request because they have not joined my program or given a valid ID.

Is there a way of getting in touch with members who do not leave an ID and/or doesn't sign up to the site they want credit for.
Are they scammers just trying to get credit or are they genuine people who doesn't know how getref works?
Is it not possible to block or prevent the continuation of a referral request until an ID is entered? This then would get rid of the many declines members have to do just because the requester doesn't sign up to their program.

Hello Lessa, When a referral request is sitting there with no Id. It is on hold. You can ignore it for a while to give them some time, open it if you have some reason to think they are actually in your downline ie same id as used here, or you can cancel it. If it has been sitting there with no Id for several days and you think it has been forgotten. When you cancel, there is no negative for either of you. I think many times people click the join link to look at the program. Then if they decide it is not for them, they forget to cancel the transaction. Once an Id is entered and they hit update you have only two choices cancel or accept, but they are saying they joined when they enter an Id, so if they didn't you need to cancel. I hope this helps. The on hold should cover most of your concerns. As far as getting in touch with them, you can leave a post in the forum and hope they see it. renderud

Hi renderud, thanks for that, I'll give them a few more days. Last time I had this I opened it and if I remember correctly I then only had the option to accept or decline, so it got declined.
I checked the member list, but it wasn't there. yet.

Ok, I'm still gunna harp on about scammers; this guy or gal CLAVAMOX has a valid memberships to a program I'm in but is not in my referral list and the ID is older than my oldest recruit.
Guess this is a real decline, which will reflect in my rating.
As I'm typing his rating has gone down, oh look there is a 'ban user' link?
shall I? umm only joined yesterday, may not know how it works, but then its not good for me to decline.

The same happened here from that member. He/she entered Moneybookers valid ID but much much older than my first refs one Could it be that person don't understand GetRef... meaning he/she thinks it's like other programs where you just enter your ID to all programs listed which you belong to? Maybe... or maybe just a scammer... As I am not certain how one could not understand clearly written proccess of joining... I am inclined to believe in scam option. Jay, maybe it would be nice to check a little about that user CLAVAMOX. Thanks, Ankica

Ah good, I'm glad it's not just me who's suspicious.
Decline button has now been hit, which means I now show another decline, doesn't bode well in my book.
