When I join someones link it gives me three very simple things to do. 1. join from the link above. OK I do this. I even activated the email verification for that program first as well.
2. enter your new username you just signed up with. OK so I do that.
3. hit the update button......But It is inoperative even though I joined "first"as it says in the directions.
So I figured mayby I just need to reload the page. no luck
So then I try logging out and back in again with no effect.
Now I know I joined the program because I am logged in surfing with it right now!
Last time this happened I ended up declined for credit somehow.
Anyone know what I need to do differently?

Hello, Did you close the window and come back before you tried to hit the update button? If so you need to click on the join here link again. This is what activates the update button, and if you leave the program doesn't remember that you previously used that link. Don't rejoin the program, just bring up the join page again. Be sure you get back to the same link by checking your pending transactions, completing the transaction you have on hold. Don't start a new transaction. renderud

No I use a tab browser so I can leave the window open. However, it was a bit of time before I brought that window to the front and perhaps it timed out from inactivity? I dunno but I cannot re-join because It shows the program at the bottom of page saying "already joined program or on hold. So the system believes I joined. All I can think of is that mayby I have to use Internet explorer at this site (*leaves the room to puke and quickly returns to keyboard*) I'll have to try that instead of Opera next time.

If you have it on hold, when you log in to Getref your main page will say that you are currently awaiting the review of "1 earn request". You can click on that to open a transaction that is on hold. If this is missing, maybe the update button did work. Go to spend and click on the program. If your referral link is there, you have completed the transaction. You can also click on view earned to see if a transaction is complete. renderud

If the button does not light up, that means that javascript is not running properly on your browser. Which could be either a setting on your browser, or if you use a third party browser simply may not be compatable. Jay

I had exactly the same problem recently when I signed up to Hitsense & eventually had to cancel when the update button would'nt light.
Today I signed up to ts25 with the same result but I checked this forum first to see if anyone else had experienced this. After reading this post I returned to pending earn & pressed the signup link again & returned to getref to find the uodate button now available. Is this a recent problem as it did'nt happen when I first joined getref.
